The Artists

Petr Limonov

Winner of the Nikolai Rubinstein Piano Competition and a pupil of Maria João Pires and Dmitri Alexeev, award-winning Russian-born British pianist Petr Limonov is increasingly sought after as a soloist worldwide. His notable appearances include the La Roque d’Anthéron Festival, Belgais Center for Arts, Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, Cadogan Hall, Salle Cortot, Kolarac Hall, Romanian Athenaeum, Lerici Music Festival, the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, a solo recital in The Duke’s Hall for His Majesty King Charles III, TV appearances on BBC Proms Extra and Podium Witteman, and broadcasts for BBC Radio 3 and Radio France Musique. Recent engagements include concerto appearances with the Georges Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra and the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as performing Rachmaninov’s Third Piano Concerto at Queen Elizabeth Hall (London) with the CCO and a debut appearance at the Edinburgh International Festival.

Thomas Humphreys

Thomas Humphreys is fast establishing himself as one of the most in demand baritones of his generation. He made his operatic debut for Glyndebourne Festival Opera in Verdi’s La Traviata. His roles include Don Giovanni (Don Giovanni), Il Conte Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte), Escamillo (Carmen), Marcello (La boheme), Tomsky (Pique Dame), Jake Wallace (La fanciulla del West) among others for many of the major opera companies across the UK. He was recently critically acclaimed for his role as Il Conte Almaviva in Dorset Festival Opera’s production of Le nozze di Figaro, with Opera Magazine stating ‘Thomas Humphreys’ finely-sung alpha-male Count mixed Marlon Brando-like virility with baffled authority’.

Thomas recently made his debut at the Philharmonie de Paris and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, performing concerts of Schubert Lieder with the worldwide renowned pianist Maria João Pires, for which he was universally acclaimed. Other recital work has taken him across the UK and to Italy, Russia and Bulgaria.

Thomas is equally in high demand on the concert platform, regularly performing with the premiere choirs and orchestras in the UK, notably the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the London Mozart Players, City of London Choir, City of Birmingham Choir, Oxford Bach Choir, Arcangelo and the Choir of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford.
